Whitehaven supported Youngcare at its annual Youngcare Charity Lunch hosted by Channel Nine presenter and Youngcare National Ambassador, Sylvia Jeffreys.
Held at 12-Micron, Barangaroo on the waterfront, the event attracted a few hundred guests, including a table of 10 from Whitehaven
“It was incredible to hear the stories from the people who Youngcare supports,” said Bruce Scott. “You couldn’t help being moved by their personal experiences, and heartened by the support and practical actions of Youngcare.
“The Whitehaven team and our guests were very generous. We support the events throughout the year when we can. Each year we donate a few days on the water aboard a Whitehaven, which is always very popular and generates a lot of funds.
“Youngcare is a very good cause. We can see the difference it makes in the lives of young people all over the country. Youngcare is advocating for young people with disabilities and supporting them with suitable housing and other services.”
Youngcare is a not-for-profit organisation committed to ensuring young people with high physical support needs have freedom of choice when it comes to housing and services. Youngcare achieves this through developing aspirational Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA), advocating for much-needed policy change, delivering vital grants programs, and providing education, advice and pathways through its free support service.
