Southern port: Shellharbour Marina 

Consider heading south this summer to explore the delights of the Illawarra Region on the picturesque south coast of NSW.

Hailed as “Australia’s newest lifestyle boating destination”, Shellharbour Marina in Shell Cove is the state’s newest marina and lifestyle destination. 

Currently offering 145 berths for vessels up to 40-metres, Shellharbour Marina is poised for expansion and will soon comprise an additional 125 berths.

On-site are fuel and pump out facility, and a 5-star service centre for visiting boaties with Lounge, event space, ensuite bathrooms, laundry and barbecue area.

Provisioning is made easy with retailers such as Woolworths, BWS, bakery, chemist and more, right at the doorstep. The seaside town of Shellharbour Village has the added appeal of restaurants and boutique shopping.

The marina offers a safe harbour to enjoy boating all year round and is located 50 nautical miles south of Sydney Harbour, 30 nautical miles north of Jervis Bay and just a 2.5-hour drive from Canberra – all of this with perfect bluewater cruising and world-renowned game fishing grounds right out the front of the marina!

The marina is at the heart of The Waterfront, Shell Cove development, with multiple harbourside dining options, tavern, a vibrant town centre, and luxury apartment living opportunities. 

By 2025, this perfectly positioned marina will add dry storage, chandlery, a boat yard and vessel lift able to accommodate wide-bodied catamarans as well as vessels to 100 Tonnes.

There’s plenty to explore in the region, including Bushrangers Bay, Five Islands off the coast of Wollongong, and Jervis Bay, 30 nautical miles south of Shellharbour has incredible anchorages and pristine beaches.

Kangaroo Valley and Jamberoo, as well as the Southern Highlands’ vineyards and historic towns are short drives from Shellharbour for fascinating day trips.
